If anyone still bothers...

Hahha, I just realised, the last time I blogged, it was exactly 4 months ago :/

Anyway, I just finished my exams here! YAY! I just had my last paper 3 hours ago. If all goes well, I'm done with first year! One down, three more to go!

Oh and I just found out a couple of weeks ago, that for my course, I need to maintain an average of distinction to continue in the programme. What the hell right?

And well, it happened a few weeks ago but I thought I should just share what pain I've gone through. You see, a few weeks ago, I had my French Oral and we're supposed to do it in pairs (it is not as hot as it sounds). So my partner and I, our turn was at 1pm. So what happened was, I woke up late and I couldn't be bothered to walk to uni because it takes 30 minutes to get there. So I decided to catch the bus, which takes only bout 10 minutes. I was at the bus stop at 12.15pm, and no buses came. 12.30, still no sign. 12.40, not even a shadow. 12.45, my friend texted me and asked where the hell am I. 12.46, I apologized and replied that I'll be there in no time. 12.47, I said my prayers. 12.48, I swore. 12.49, Still swearing. 12.50, the freaking bus came.

You have NO idea the amount of anxiety I had. I could just burst.

The Oral Test went alright, but I thought we could have done better. Or more like I could have done better if I didn't like stumble and rush through my lines.

Oh well.

Melb trip!

One word: awesome!

Melbourne is so different from Adelaide. I mean, I do like Adelaide, but Melbourne is just so much more...happening?

Anyway, here are the pics!

On the 13th, I met up with Ho for dinner before watching our show, Wicked!

The whole street near the theater was green! How cool is that?!

Outside Regent Theater.

I also managed to catch up with two of my high school seniors; Yee Lyn and Loris.

And on the day before I left, I met Ho at her campus.

And of course, before I left, I bought a dozen of Melb's greatest export. Well, I know I'm exaggerating, but if only you saw the number of people who brought boxes of Krispy Kreme to the plane.

And I'll leave you guys with the city view of Melbourne City. Both day and night!

Friday, July 18, 2008 is your lucky day.

Right. Time to revive this blog again.

Well, Adelaide is PMS-ing. The day is pretty warm and the night is freaking cold. Ugh. And I think I'm catching a flu, which isn't exactly the best time, because my first exam is on 25th, next Wednesday. For some reason, Adelaide Uni seems to be the last to start their exams. Which is FREAKING annoying. ):

So I have 3 papers this sem; Human Bio, French and Psych. Revising for my Human Bio makes me miss Ms Ho AND her notes SOOOOO much ): In her notes, everything is complete, explanation is clear. My lecture notes, on the other hand, is just plain dumb. Ugh.

Oh btw, I listened to Scarlett Johansson's debut album. And it's the weirdest shit ever. Let me walk you through it. Firstly, she doesn't sound like herself in the album. She sounds kinda tranny-ish. Secondly, geez, what's with the songs?! It sounds so new age, it's almost like she's trying to be Enya. Except, she's Menya.

Maybe she should just stick to acting.

Thursday, June 19, 2008 is your lucky day.

I think I'm gonna be a vegan.

I saw a video online on how they treat chickens, pigs, turkeys, and cows yesterday, and it is so (1) mind blowing, (2) disturbing, and (3) sick.

Seriously.

I dare you to watch it

*

I told a friend of mine that I'm going to be a vegan. And she said she was one, for a year, but gave up eventually.

"You'll have to eat lots of beans," she said.

"Oh. That means I'm gonna fart a lot!"

I'm having second thoughts now.

But really laaaa. The video is so..ugh. Maybe I'll be a vegan step by step. First of all, stop eating pork. Which means, no char siew, no siu yuk and no sweet and sour pork.

I think it's easier for me to give up on pork than chicken.

Friday, May 09, 2008 is your lucky day.

Just thought I should share this.

Tagline: Welcome to La La Land.

Oh, I didn't know Heidi was the spokesperson for Sungai Wang.

Friday, April 04, 2008 is your lucky day.

Wow, I know, I haven't been updating. Sue me.

Anyway. Uni is crazy busy! ): It's like assignments every week, and then reading and more assignments and more reading. Ugh.

Oh, French is one hell of a crazy language. With all the rules and the fact that EVERY noun has a freaking gender. There's this girl in my French tutorial who spent like 5 months in France, so French 1A is like, easy peasy for her. Makes me sick! I should have taken Japanese or Chinese. According to my friend who is taking Chinese 1A, they spent the first class pronouncing "Ni hao ma".

I'm like, daaaammmn.

My Psych lectures are very interesting. I mean, it better be, since I'm gonna have to take it for 4 years.

Oh, and I have been kicking ass in the kitchen! And by "kick ass" I mean sweet and sour chicken, curry laksa, fishball noodle soup, chow mein, etc. I think I have finally found the Jamie Oliver in me.

Ooh. Come May 2008! Death Cab For Cutie's new album, Narrow Stairs, will be out then! I super cannot wait!

Here's their first single from the album; I Will Possess Your Heart.

How I wish you could see the potential, the potential of you and me
It's like a book elegantly bound, but in a language that you can't read - just yet
You gotta spend some time--love, you gotta spend some time with me
And I know that you'll find--love, I will possess your heart (x2)

There are days when outside your window, I see my reflection as I slowly pass
And I long for this mirrored perspective, when we'll be lovers, lovers at last
You gotta spend some time--love, you gotta spend some time with me
And I know that you'll find--love, I will possess your heart(x2)

I will possess your heart (x2)

You reject my advances and desperate pleas
I won't let you, let me down so easily, so easily

You gotta spend some time--love, you gotta spend some time with me
And I know that you'll find--love, I will possess your heart (x3)

I will possess your heart (x2)

It's sooo good, it's not even funny.

An update...with pics!

Okay, basically, I don't have many pics with me right now, but yea, the highlights of the past 2 weeks.

> Glenlg Bleach! (pronounced: glare-nell bee-itch)

The beach is AWESOME, really. The sky that day was freaking clear (actually, I hardly saw clouds throughout the time I'm here, until lately), the water is clear and blue, the beach is clean, it's just too good to be true.

> Picnic at the Botanic Garden.

We bought stuff from Woolworths (it's one of their major supermarkets) and just sat on the grass, ate, talked, and fed the ducks. Very campus-y stuff, I know.

> Strawberry picking at Hahndorf. (pronounced: han-doff)

Hahndorf is a German village, located bout 45 mins away from the city by bus. We had really good pork ribs that day. And of course, we went to this strawberry farm and picked strawberries!

(Btw, this is the company that supplies jam to Starbucks)

The entrance fee is AUD$3. And you can pick as much as you want! It's like a freaking strawberry buffet. I'm not sure what's the exact protocol, but apparently, if you wanna buy the strawberries you picked, it's $9 per kg. So what we did was, we ate on the spot. Very kiasu, I know.

Saturday, February 23, 2008 is your lucky day.
